President’s Pen - October 2008

Hello fellow ARMA members! Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have again assumed the duties as your local chapter president for the 2008-2009 chapter year. 

We have several interesting and educational meetings lined up for the end of the year.  Our November meeting is a presentation of the Callaway Nuclear Plant.   The presenter is our very own chapter member Mary Binkholder.  She will talk about the possibility of building a ‘new generation’ facility at Callaway; the records management life cycle; and will give an overview of the plants’ records program.

Mark your calendars for an evening of fun and ARMA fellowship.  Our annual holiday party is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16^th at the Grand Cruz Restaurant in Columbia.  I guarantee you will leave the party with a good feeling of what true ARMA friendship is all about!

 I am very pleased to see how our small chapter has grown over the years.  We have officially moved from a small to medium-sized chapter with 38 current members.  Welcome new members - Christina Miller, Mallory Prewett, Linda Thompson, Jackie Wagner and Stacy Gillmore.  

 I encourage all chapter members to attend as many meetings as possible.  No meeting topic is ever the same.  There is always a massive amount of records management information shared at all meetings.
